Tips for maximizing the benefits
of the new clock/calendar
in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
One of the most useful facilities in Windows has been the system
tray clock on the right-hand corner of your screen.
The system tray clock has been there since Windows 95 and while you
may naturally view it now as the same convenient time telling
gadget that has always been there for you, in Windows Vista and
Windows 7 it has added features that make it even more useful and
productive.
The following are a few tips and tricks that can help you maximize
the benefits of the new system clock/claendar in Windows Vista and
Windows 7:
- Hover your mouse over the
system tray clock to
immediately tell the date (this feature is available since in
Windows XP and Windows 200 as well). A small window with the
weekday, month, day in the month and the year will pop up and will
remain there until you move your mouse away from the clock.

- Click on the system tray clock
to uncover the
hidden calendar as a quick way to check dates other than
today's:
-
- To check dates in the future or past as
well, click the
left and right arrows surrounding
the
month.
- The day and date at the top of the pop-up
window looks
like a hyperlink and is indeed a convenient shortcut that takes
back to today when you click it.

- The month-and-year text between the left and
right
arrows looks like an ordinary text but it is actually a smart
hyperlink:
- Click the month-and-year text once
to
zoom the calendar out to view all months:

- Click the year text between the
arrows to zoom out
to view recent and upcoming years:

- Click the year-range text to view
entire
decades:
- Click day and date at the top to return back to today's
normal
view.
Now... Can you tell on which day of the week will July 4, 2023
fall?
