The beauty of this wizard is that you don't have to follow any complex instructions. Once you download this setup file (keep it on your desktop or in an easy-to-find folder), you open it, click the Next button on the installation wizard, select a picture file on your computer, click the Finish button to complete installation and Voila! Next time you logoff (or start your computer),  you will see your photo instead of the standard Windows Backgroun!

Note: No desktop icons will be installed, as to avoid cluttering your desktop. Instead, you will find a Software Candy entry in your Start Menu, which allows you to uninstall it, should you ever want to do this.



There are numerous sites providing instructions on how to edit the Windows registry by accessing a key named  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Authentication/LogonUI/Background and modifying the OEMBackground value. This is in addition to having to navigate to a system folder named C:/Windows/System32/Oobe to create a sub-folder named info/backgrounds.

If you are not a geek who feels comfortable performing such (dangerous) registry edits, we highly recommend against doing it yourself. Not only can this break your system, if you ever want to undo this customization,  it may not be as simple as uninstalling our wizard.
