What is the Windows key and
what does Win Key Emulator do?
The Windows key (also known as the Windows logo key) a
shortcut key originally introduced by Microsoft to promote and ease the
use of Windows.
The Windows key achieves this by providing shortcuts to
frequently used Windows functions. For example, tapping the Windows key
alone will open the Start menu (or close it). Pressing the M key while
the Windows key is held down will minimize all currently open Windows.
For a comprehensive list of Windows key shortcuts, please refer to the
Advanced tab.
Most newly manufactured keyboards have the
Windows key but they usually come with all sorts of tradeoffs and
compromises that make you miss the feel of a
true clicky
keyboard. Those quality vintage keyboards are becoming extinct, so if
you have one, hold on to it...
Whether you value vintage quality, or have a newer keyboard which
happens not to have the Windows key, our
Win Key Emulator
is the right solution for you: Keep using the keyboard you prefer
and have the
functionality of a Windows key.
Simply download and
install Win
Key Emulator
and
you will be able to use your right Ctrl key as if
it were a genuine Windows logo key.
As with all Software Candy products,
Win Key Emulator
is
completely free of any viruses or spyware (digitally signed for
authenticity and integrity) and is well tested for its advertised
features. If ever needed, you can also uninstall it completely with
a single click, performing a total cleanup after itself.
