What is RapidShare Manager and what does RapidScheduler do?

RapidShare is one of the most popular and world's largest file-hosting sites, handling up to three million users simultaneously. Upon uploading a file, the service provides to the user a unique download URL. This URL enables others with whom the user shares the URL to download the file (no user is allowed to search the server for content).

Some of the uploaded (and downloaded) files could be huge -- to the extent that the upload (or download) operation cannot be be completed in a normal attended desktop session. This is where RapidShare Manager comes in handy, as it allows queuing and resuming the upload as well as the downloads (only for Premium Members—free users cannot resume).

Unfortunately, as useful as RapidShare Manager is, it lacks one important feature: A Scheduler.

A RapidShare scheduler is a timer tool that allows you to plan downloads, such that you can maximize the benefit or your Rapids (RapidShare's new "currency"). Whether the discounted "happy hour" benefits program will be available, a RapidShare Manager scheduler or timer would at least allow you to maintain the daily limit. This way, you can resume and end downloads at a predefined daily hour that you set. This lets you optimize your bandwidth use, maximize your GB daily limit and get the best bang for the buck for your Rapids.

Note: The current version has the current features and limitations:

1. It requires installation from a Windows account with Administrative privileges, i.e. an Administrator account.
2. It requires that your Windows account is protected with a password, as you will have to enter that password in order to enable the scheduler to run properly.  Make sure the password is entered correctly (future versions will verify password correctness or will eliminate it completely).
3. To change the time, simply re-install RapidScheduler. Future versions will allow you to accomplish that without re-installing and will be be available for FREE to registered purchasers for up to 1 year from date of purchase.
4. You must be logged on to your account during the period of time you want RapidShare Manager to run. This is currently a requirement by the scheduler, by design, and it is not a bug. If you are interested in a non-interactive mode operation, please let 
5. If you have other Java programs running at the same time, they will be terminated as well. Future versions will address this as well.

• A1. No, you did everything correctly. By design, we do not clutter your desktop with unnecessary icons. Instead, we insert the proper menu items in your Start Menu.


• Q2. I downloaded and installed this software. However, RapidShare Manager didn't run upon the preset time. What could be wrong?
• A2. First, double-check that you entered your Windows password correctly. A password must be present and it cannot be empty. Also, make sure that you entered the time in 24-hour format (i.e. 1:00PM is 13:00). Make sure that your computer remains logged into your account at the time of start and finish and that it is an Administrator account. Lastly, if none of the above measures work, please contact us so that we can address the issue ASAP.
