Upload Any File Correctly!
Certain digital cameras store your picture files with an
UPPERCASE .JPG extension. Some web servers and/or browsers may not
deal very well with the difference between .jpg and .JPG and other
filename extensions, in which case you find yourself having to rename
the extension of each and every such file.
We have an App for that, too.

Simply download and
install
LowerCaseFilename.ext and you
will be able to change the
extension of
your files to small letters with a
single menu selection.
What is Filename Extension
and what does LowerCaseFilename.ext
do?
In Windows, every file has an associated filename extension,
indicating its file type to the system and other programs and
applications.
Certain digital cameras, recording devices and Windows applications
store files with an UPPERCASE extension. While Windows itself doesn't
really care whether the extension is in caps (capital letters), certain
web
servers, browsers and other devices may not deal very well
with a filename extension that's not all lower case.
Changing the filename extension to all lowercase could be tedious and
quite time consuming if you do it manually or via the command line.
This is why we created
LowerCaseFilename.ext
-- to help you perform this complicated task, with a
single
context menu click!
In the following snapshot you can see the original extension of a file,
a
moment before using
LowerCaseFilename.ext to lower
it:
Then, all you do is (1) select all the files you want to rename (use
Ctrl+click and/or Shift+click to select more than one file), (2)
right-click any of these files, (3) select "Lower-case extension" and
Voila!
All the files you selected lowered their
extension
case.
This is how the Filename field of the selected file looks like, a
moment
after
LowerCaseFilename.ext was invoked:
Note: It goes without saying that
you can only perform this operation on files to which you have
write
access. This is especially true in Windows 7, which has
stronger protection for system files.
As with all Software Candy products,
LowerCaseFilename.ext is
completely free of any viruses or spyware (digitally signed for
authenticity and integrity) and is well tested for its advertised
features. If ever needed, you can also uninstall it completely with
a single click, performing a total cleanup after itself.
